
Wigan Athletic have confirmed the signing of Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old remains a highly-rated prospect as he joins his sixth different club on loan from Chelsea, and gets his first crack at regular Premier League football.
Sinclair is Wigan's fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jordi Gomez, Hendry Thomas, Jason Scotland and James McCarthy.
The 20-year-old spent the second-half of last season at Birmingham City, with whom he helped to gain promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
An England Under-20 international, Sinclair made his professional debut for Bristol Rovers at the age of 15 back in 2004, and was snapped by the Blues in 2005.
The exciting Sinclair's mix of blistering pace and the ability to skip past challenges have won him many plaudits and manager Roberto Martinez is thrilled to have signed him.
He said: "Scott is a fantastic talent who can operate either up-front or out wide and I'm delighted to have him join us.
"He'll certainly bring a lot of competitiveness to the team, and hopefully we can help him to continue progressing as a player."
Sinclair made has Chelsea debut against Wycombe Wanderers in the League Cup back in January 2007, and scored his first Blues goal against Hull City later in the competition in a 4-0 win.
He then spent a number of loan spells at Plymouth Argyle, Queen's Park Rangers, Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace where he teamed up with Latics player Ben Watson, before joining Birmingham City back in January.
Internationally, he has represented England at every level from Under-17 to Under-20, scoring 10 goals along the way.
